Remember, before Les got in touch with Krags, Krags was wanted back at A&M. We lost Joe Rob last year, he ended up at North Carolina, don't know where he ends up, another good coach. His replacement McGaughey has done very well with the Special Teams. As time goes by, LSU seems to be one of the more stable jobs in college football. They also pay very well.
I have a feeling most Aggie fans are now very glad they got Sumlin especially the way recruiting is going right now. I remember that someone started a thread around this time wondering if a sleeping giant was awoken when aTm joined the SEC. Right now it appears to me that just might be the case as A & M is killing it on the recruiting trail as many of the best Texas high school players want to stay in state, play in the SEC and like Sumlin very much. Having 4 SECW in the top 5-10 nationally in recruiting most years means this is going to be one tough ass division. And in how Freeze is recruiting at Ole Miss and wow!
That was the fear that they would get all of the best kids in Texas, you can stay in Texas and play in the SEC. It was a smart move for the Aggies.
With around 400 kids in the state of Tx, recruiting and player developement come into play. Just look at Tx last year, having no player drafted. The only team to beat JFoosball two years in a row. Like a few a&m people told me after this seasons game, "Y'all got our number!" Does look like Chief knows how to defend their offense. Don't know if the defense can be any worse this year. An they also will be breaking in a new QB. I like our chances
