#7 Boise State and #8 K State get left out of the BCS. Same with #9 South Carolina (ineligible) and #12 Baylor
A few months ago New Orleans was hoping for a huge payday and tons of publicity. Michigan will be an attention getter but we've seen Virginia Tech and their recent loss diminshes their season. Although everybody wants LSU to do well some businesses still prefer they not play as they claim out of town fans spend more money. (except alcohol :hihi Having a so-called rematch won't be attractive so none of this worked out like the city had hoped.
When you play a weak schedule you can't afford to lose. They had a chance to play for the title but blew it.
Basically, the BCS thinks that VT will make them more money than Kansas St. or Boise St. This is all the BCS really cares about.
Yeah, I have no sympathy for Boise State being left out but just wanted to mention the #7 team got left out of a BCS game
Oh yeah, I like seeing Michigan in there. They have a fun team to watch. It's VT that is the main issue...plus they have the most boring team every year.
I don't really buy it. A lot of locals come out and party in the FQ, which is something we don't normally do. We usually leave it for the tourists. So when all the yats, coon asses, and farm boys come down to party for LSU, the local wallets really open up. The food and beverage business does better. The upside is that there will probably be more hotel rooms for Bama fan. Either way, the city will come out good on this one. The only thing I like about this is that it will be an epic southern game!
So what's VaTech's excuse??? At least Boise can say they beat Georgia in the same building LSU just did. Boise also beat VaTech last year in their own DC backyard.
