Yep, and although so many don't care to acknowledge it, our OL was good LAST year too. Really, the OL had ONE bad year...and it was due to inexperience and injuries. Other than that, since he's been here, the OL has gotten better and better. And OBVIOUSLY we had a step up in offense this season. I know...nowhere to go but up. But we said that after 2009 too...and look what 2010 looked like.
Indeed, Fish. There's no way in hell that we win 11 games last year without a good OL. The run game was the lone bright spot in the offense. Yes, defense and special teams were also integral to our success, but you have to have SOME ability to move the ball to win 11 games. Period.
I like what they have done this season. I am not sure how much of the credit goes to Stud but what they have going seems to be the right fit no matter what % of game planning, play calling he is responsible for. I would like to seem them keep thing just as they are.
Lots of rumor material out there with all the coaching changes this year, I just hope one of them isn't....McQueery to LSU.... :hihi:
Stud is growing on me. I was one of the ones calling for his head a couple years ago, but I have come around since I have seen what he could do with some talent. Stud, Krag, Wilson and Miles seem to blend well and I think thats the reason for our offense this year. I would hate to break up this unit, although I feel Frank will be offered something higher pretty soon. I would like to see what he does next year with our young qb's.
Meyer named Iowa State Assistant coach Tom Herman to be Ohio State's new Offensive coordinator on Friday, Dec. 9th.
I hope he raids their coaches and recruits. I would love for FL to spend some time in the middle of the east pack.
