Went to the NSU game and it was fun to watch this team play. Haven't seen a complete defensive effort from an LSU team since the tournament of the final four season. This team defends the perimeter well and has a shot blocker in the post. A little careless sometimes on the offensive side, but that's to be expected with a new coach with high expectations. They are going to win some big games this season.
Swat was one bad dude. He was long and lean and could jump thru the roof. I remember a game against Alabama where he had 18 pts and 8 rebounds in about the first 8 minutes, before a Bama player took a cheap shot at him and sprained his ankle, knocking him out of the game. Swat was easily on his way to a 40 pt/20 rb night. It still ranks as one of the more dominant performances I've ever seen at LSU.
The first time I saw him play in high school, the tallest player on our team was 5' 10". Mitchell dominated the game. Hell, our fans cheered some of his dunks.
This years freshman class i think was a little underrated. If you go to lsusports.net you can watch the last three games for free. Warren is short but he has long arms and he's in every play and he boxes out well... Chris Bass is fast as hell. I wish you could put him and Bo Spencer together. Bo has a better offensive game but Chris looks like he can get in the lane whenever he want's. If Chris learn how to keep it under control i think he's going to steal a lot of playing time from Bo. The last game Delwan Graham got about 15 minutes on the floor, he seems to lack confidence right now but he made a few nice passes and a few good play. Something tells me if he gets his confidence he will be a beast and maybe the best of all the freshman. If you look at our schedule it think we have a chance to win 20 game. Our pre conference is not that tough and if you look at what who other teams in the SEC West are loosing to AL and Auburn both lost to Mercer at home and Arkansas lost to Missouri State. I'm not saying we will but we have a chance.
Man I am PISSED that I can't listen to the games. DAMN YOU 98.1!!!!!! But add me to the list that thinks what CTJ has done so far is AMAZING! This dude flat out coaches! Very excited about this team. PS- Pod, you ever figured out a solution?
Don't know if it will work for you, but I use a coaxial cable to improve the range of my little antennae radio. Actually my radio doesn't have an antennae because it broke off, but the coaxial cable actually gives me better reception. I just make contact with one end of the cable to where the antennae is supposed to be and voila. It's only about a 2 foot cable.
