Really impressed w/ what I've seen of this young man so far. He plays a lot bigger than 6'-7", 220 lbs. I see us getting quite a few quality minutes off the bench from this kid this year. For you fellow old-timers, he reminds me a lot of another 6'-7" forward who wore #24 and played a lot bigger than his size...Leonard "Swat" Mitchell.

Who is he? Sounds like a Steven Seagal character.

I'm pretty fired up about Trent Johnson as the coach. We have decent talent to compete this year. If the Tigers can get to 18-12 or so this year, I think that would be a success.

Yes, Storm Warrent is a pleasant surprise so far. Chris Bass looks good as a true point in spot action. Ready for the Tigers to return to prominence on the hardwood.

Didn't get to see the NW State game, but he has looked solid so far. The team still wants to show some of the Brady tendencies, but they've looked significantly more disciplined in their first 3 games than in previous years. Still some sloppy/careless play from time to time, but it looks like Trent Johnson is going to have them playing solid, disciplined ball. In time the Tigers could definitely be an SEC contender.

His nickname when he was in high school in St. Martinville aka "The Ville" was "Pachuka". First time I saw a high school player dunk a basketball.

I'm not exaggerating when I tell you that I have never seen Tiger basketball play like this.

If anyone still defends Brady they need to actually watch some games. :geauxtige

Finally, guys, a basketball thread! :thumb:

I was beginning to wonder when the 3-0 CTJ team would get some love on this board. I mean, if you're going to abandon the 4 loss Miles team until the recruiting period, might as well support the hardwood teams, right ?

Look, let the Brady bashing go. What we've seen at the beginning of the season is LSU play three over matched SWAC teams. They've played hard, and they've focused on defense. Which is all that Brady had them do early in his career, until the Final Four spoiled 'em.

But certainly, you gotta love what this coaching staff is doing. Back to fundamentals and focusing on defense and rebounding. I haven't watched them live yet, but it's encouraging to see the effort and intensity again on D. Storm Warren (as many predicted), had the college ready body and I'm stoked to see him getting the minutes and getting it done. I think this freshman class is going to be a very underrated class... I think Harris will likely surprise next year too (after a likely redshirt year and hopefully a few more lbs) and Bass and Graham will also improve as the season rolls on.

It's at a minimum a deeper, athletic team. If they continue to buy into the coaching staff's mantra, we'll be alright by season end.
