I don't understand why everyone is so quick to defend this guy. I understand he won a :crystal: but that all that proved is that an idiot could have won with the talent he was left with.... the fact is every year he has coached here the teams have underachieved period even the national championship team underachieved. Losing to two inferior teams in kentucky and arkansas but we got lucky, heck he had the best team that we had this decade with the 2006 team and they could'nt score over 3 points against auburn and lost to a florida team we were more talented than....let's just tell the truth the guy needs to go with better coaching we would have beaten florida and bama this year and im not even goin gto start on the events of this weekend...he just needs to go period....
Have you even READ the board since Saturday? Very few are defending Miles, and I wouldn't catagorize ANYONE has being "quick" to defend him.
Miles haters...revel in your moment. right now you can say anything without much rebuttal. I think to can Miles for $16 MILLION is short sighted, not well thought out, and knee jerk rationalizing. Like Okie said, let's see how this plays out first. - Miles needs to clearly, and convincingly take the full blame for the loss and explain his post game comments with apologies to us and the team's players. -Miles needs to replace Gary Crowton after the bowl game with a nationally recognized and competent OC whether he's from the NFL or college ranks. - Miles needs to try to regain control of the team's loyalty and prepare them to beat Arkansas next week at home. He's having a press conference in 1/2 hour so we'll have to wait and see what happens. Oh yea, and he needs to do it in coherent English and not in his typical schizophrenic coach speak BS that he uses to dance around issues... ....I'm waiting.:tigereye:.
A few are defending him, a majority are throwing him to the wolves. No one is saying he's perfect. I support him, but not blindly. He made mistakes against OM, but he's still 8-3 right now. You're going to have a hard time getting the AD to fire him over that:milesmic:
Its a free country, if someone wants to defend CLM, they have every right to do so within the terms of usage of this forum. You are free to passionately disagree with them. No need to dictate to others what they can do. Think we all need a little "down" time.
I will not defend Miles for this past weekend and the outcome of the game. I am one of the biggest Miles supporters, but for now I am a not at ease with the way things have been handled by him. Should he come out and man up, should he regain control of this team and beat Ark, then he will have righted his wrong. He has a lot of splainin to do. I like many am waiting. The knee jerk reaction to replace him is a bit much, but I do believe, now more than ever, that Crowton will be replaced. Someone has to take the fall for the meltdown in the 3 games we very well could have won. I am still a big Miles supporter, but like many, will let the Miles haters have their day, and should it turn out over the rest of this season and next that they are right, I will be the first in line to eat my crow. I do think, still, that Miles will right the ship, he will right his wrongs, and he will have us where we want to be. For now though, I will let him get the lashing he deserves.
He just likes the stage when these kind of moments occur. :yelwink2: I guess he hasn't been reading the threads
i'm one of those defending him. Not over the call, because it was an absolutely horrible call and inexcusable, but over people calling for him to be fired because of it
