When poor people start producing jobs, I'll consider it. Buffet is facing the reality of his mortality and is trying to curry favor with Mr. God.

The rich damn sure don't. If we want to end entitlements to the poor, we should end them for the rich too.

Not sure who this Warren Buffett guy is or if he knows what he is talking about.

I'm just posting the article b/c I found it interesting and I am interested to see if any of you would like to challenge any of the information that Warren Buffett is offering in the article.

That's a far cry from Obama's plan of taxing everyone who makes over 250k. Raising taxes is never a good thing but you have to be crazy to think we can pay off our debt with just spending cuts. I would be on board with this plan if there were massive spending cuts and we really got our house in order but we won't. The way I see raising taxes is making dividends ordinary income first. It's hard to argue with a straight face that dividends should have a special lower tax rate when the money I make off of the privately held companies that I own are taxed at ordinary income. CG could be raised but only slightly. I think buying and selling of assets spurs the economy so we don't want to get too crazy here. Subsidies should all be gone next. Then we cut spending like crazy and see where we are. If we need to raise taxes on income over $1 million bucks then maybe we do that. But that is a final step in a very large plan. Think step 86 and we can't even get through step 2.
