his pitching style reminds me of mitch "wild thing" williams, but he doesn't fall quite that far off the mound.
yes, great point. he was busting that fastball inside on righties and if he can do that effectively, then he has a career way beyond a left handed specialist
I just love how nonchalant he is about it all I was telling a friend it looked like he was sitting in the stands, asked Coach to give him a uniform and let him try and pitch to see what he can do Love the compact delivery, holding the ball just below his waist It was too cool
i loved it. his pitching, his enthusiam.... basically everything that has been covered here. last night i mentioned they way they kept talking about him also playing football and "two sport athlete" so much, it was like telling potential two sport recruits "come to lsu and win championships in both sports"! showing les miles in the stands beaming like a proud father didnt hurt any either!
Yes, totally agree. He needs to show something this year in football if he is ever to make it to the next level. I have confidence he will.
Superman wears Chad Jones pajamas! His pitching was very impressive and came at a critical time in the game. A little too much clebrating last night, moving kinda slow.
Interesting observation from Tirk about football being more questionable but he's correct. Chad has underachieved in football despite the obvious athleticism but in baseball he impacted LSU far more by contributed hugely towards this national championship. If I was him I would be gravitating pretty heavily towards baseball next year. Lets not forget how many times he was quoted during the recruiting process as loving baseball and it being his favorite sport. He can become a very intimidating factor on the mound and with his obvious talents could make much more money in baseball. Im very excited for him. He has opened a door that he may never have considered. What a great story and it could get better.
Chad was drafted outta high school in the 5th round as an outfielder by the astros...he is an unbelivable hitter yall need to watch him take batting practice those dean hr's are nothing in bp compared to jones. He was hitting .350 before getting benched in baseball and probley have 20-25+ HR's if he played all year, if chad doesnt go pro in football he will def. be starting in the outfield for us next year... our outfield will be even better than this year with mahtook landry and jones in the outfield
