So basically after Spring ball was over, they bench him and tell him to try pitching and this is what turned up?

    Our secret weapon. Geez.

I mean the kid was unreal on the mound and has the demeanor to be VERY successful in the big leagues.

A lefty that can get out lefties.....yeah....big time money in that profession.

I love the wave in the face he did when he struck out his first batter (although he ended it abruptly when he realized he was in a baseball game, not a football game, lol).

I cannot wait to see what he does next season. He's definitely something special.

There may not be a next baseball season for Chad Jones. He is a super talented athete and will be the starting free safety for the Tigers football team next season, so its quite possible that if he has a great year he will go in the first round of the NFL draft. We can only wait and see.

Last night, as they kept showing Les Miles, when Chad Jones was on a tear, I kept thinking that after the game Miles was going to tell him that he looks kinda funny in a baseball hat...much better in a helmet..

WOW! seriously, he blew me away. I was a the local watering hole for the game and I told the people around me that Jones scares me a little and I didn't know what to expect in a game like this against one of the best teams in the nation because he had only been pitching several months.

Then he strikes out those two Texas batters with 6 or 7 total pitches and the guy next to me says, "What did you say?" and just smiles. :).

That's what's really scary about him...how he came so far, so fast in developing pitching skills, and how sure of himself he was under pressure.

Do you think Miles will give him reps at QB next month when practice starts?

If we didn't already have Jordan Jefferson and Russel Shepard and LSU was in desperate need of a QB I'm sure Chad woud pick it up pretty quick

Chad Jones is still my hero, but he's gotta get some vision down before we talk to the agent . I think Jones has a future in either sport.

Could he do a Deion Sanders and play both sports at the pro level?

I almost put that in my post, lol. I think he could (but then again I am biased). Its just amazing to me how he came in pitching.

It would be interesting to see what THE DREADLOCKS OF DOOM would do next year as a lefty starter. I would rather see in in the clser role but we do still have Matty Ott for 2 more years

UnFreakin Believable! I hadnt seen that many games this year but the few times I have seen Jones pitch he looked pretty impressive. But last night...WOW! Hard to believe he has only pitched a couple months and was front and center on the national stage in the biggest game of the year mowing people down. Unreal.
