Love this guy's show on XM Radio.

He has a segment called "After further review" where callers call in to voice their complaints about anything in the world of sports.

Somebody brought up the Raiders and then Czaban went off and said Russell was already as big a bust as Ryan Leaf and that their was not pot of gold at the end of the rainbow and referred to Jarmarcus as a "dry hole".

    Pretty harsh.

I think it's still too early to say that, but the chances of Russell ever succeeding in the NFL are diminishing as each week passes by.

I stupidly drafted JR as my backup QB to Phillip Rivers in my fantasy league. Was thinking with my heart, not my head, and figured he could have a break out year. What a mistake. For every flash of brilliance he has 10 acts of stupidity and ineptness. His passer rating is an unbelievable 39.8. I think they assembled enough weapons around him to be effective but the light hasnt clicked on for him. At best he will get one more season but knowing Davis I wouldnt be surprised to see his career at Oakland end after this season unless he improves a LOT. He may not officially be a bust but hes about as close to one as you can get.

That is my one rule every fantasy draft. Never draft someone from the Saints or a former LSU player unless it would be just boneheaded not to. I haven't run into a situation yet where I thought it necessary to draft any.

You wouldnt draft Brees? I won my fantasy league last year with him as my starting QB.

I would if it would be stupid not to at my draft position and he was available but I wouldn't go out of my way to get him.

Brees is a special case but if I was in the 3rd or 4th round and say someone like Addai was still on board I would probably take someone else comparable. This way it prevents me from making stupid decisions with my heart throughout the year when I set my lineup each week.

I just see too many guys in my league draft and start all these guys they have ties with emotionally and they usually fall flat. I am happy to say I have yet to have any player like that on my team. Just makes it easier in the long-run.

I would agree totally with this assessment.

I know a lot of Tiger fans still cling to the fact that he is on a horrible Oakland team and doesn't have the weapons, but that excuse has worn out it's welcome. He has a stellar tight end and a couple of running backs who could be very good if it wasn't for putting 8 in the box showing no respect for Oakland's passing game (and rightfully so).

I wish he could have gone elsewhere to get nurtured properly, but the cards were dealt and it wasn't a good hand to say the least.

That said, the football smarts are just not there and the NFL is no place to be lacking in that category.

Did any of us honestly believe that Russell was going to succeed in the NFL? His 3 1st and 2nd round draft pick WRs, not to mention the great RBs he had, bailed him out time and time again when he was at LSU. His stats are inflated, and he was never a smart QB. He played well at times, no doubt, but he was a product of having a pretty good team around him.

If anyone took off their purple and gold glasses, they would know that JR was going to blow it in the NFL. He's all talent and no brains. Despite this, I was pulling for the guy to succeed in the NFL until I saw his "Bama Boy" bling during the championship game a few years back. That irked me.

I saw parts of their game yesterday against the Bronco's and Czaban's pretty well nailed it. JR's carrying too much weight and his mechanics, particularly the footwork is terrible.

Jamarcus has a great arm, but he has no brain. He can throw the slant routes, and the in routes, but his timing is way off on the comeback routes, and the sideline routes. He has trouble reading defenses, which is wild because he had the same problems here. Lucky for us we ran enough screens, slants, and in routes to compensate. Jamarcus will never succeed until he starts working hard to be successful, which i don't see him doing, he is too hollywood, and really doesn't care it seems. Evident by his weight coming into camp. I really liked him at LSU, and i defended him alot, but i wont anymore, he is working himself into a career back up role.
