Well, I need to come clean and face the music. I'm here to eat some humble pie, crow, my hat.... When Ridley declared for the draft this season I said, "What's he doing?!?! He needs to return for his Sr. year". ...Early indications is that I could not have been MORE WRONG! Obviously, before I was "AtlantaBengal", I was "BostonBengal" so all of the Boston sports teams are etched in my moral fiber as much as being a bayou boy from Bayou Lafourche! I loved those LSU alumni get togethers during the spring when all the former LSU players that were on the Patriots would come and hang out (back then, Rohan, Jarvis Green, Faulk, Marquise Hill were all hanging out with us eating crawfish and throwing back suds). So when the Pats drafted him, I was excited, but leary that he was ready to make an impact. WOW! WHAT a first impression! Congrats, Ridley! Please pass me the crow.
Picked higher than many thought. Word was out that coming back for another year wouldn't have improved his draft stock. Some said he was picked too high, we'll see. He has a shot to make an impact this year and may finish with over 1,000 yds. rushing. I know its just one game, but the word is they like him. Best of luck to the Riddler....... :tigereye:
Faulk paved the way for LSU RB's in New England. Everyone up there loves KFaulk and a lot of my friends up there have already told me they'd be more than happy with an All-LSU backfield if Ridley produces like Faulk has.
I'm in the same boat with you, but I selfishly wanted him to come back since he was one of our most underrated players last year. Didn't he declare early since he needed to help out his family? I can't confirm that but I can respect a player if he goes early for that reason
