This is a bull**** answer. If god is almighty and omnipotent as Christians believe, then he created us. The typical response is that he gave us the will to choose, but he still created us with this will and knowing what we would choose. Is that really us making a choice or us behaving as he knew would would behave (ie. how he created us). If it really is a choice, it's a choice made by god who created us with option to choose, knowing full well what we would choose.

Why would god make atheists, knowing full well there was no way for them to get into heaven? It's kind of a dick move if you ask me.

The more likely answer is that there is no god.

You are applying a Buddhist philosophy to Christianity and it doesn't work. Your question is null. Either God doesn't exist or Hawking's atheism has nothing to do with being created. Like you said, it is choice. The Devil was created to explain our misdeeds. All religions have to have a existential good and evil and our lives lie in between the choice.

Your statement (he still created us with this will and knowing what we would choose.....) sounds very Calvinist. Not many Christian religions believe that we were born with the ticket to go to heaven. Hell, I had to get baptized to get that first hole punched.

All I was doing was giving you the answer that you will get from a Christian, or a Muslim, or a Jew. I don't know what a Hindu would say. I'll ask at the Festival of Lights this weekend.

I'll leave you with this: What is the sound of one of God's hands clapping?

and you all are ignoring the point that faith has nothing to do with proof. If there is proof there is no need for faith and as just about all have acknowledged there is no possiblility to prove either proposition at this time. One believes because they have faith. Again I am not refering to any religion but faith in the existance of God or Gods as the case may be.

It is the answer a Christian would give, isn't it?

If there is a God that created you, then why would he create you to not believe in him?

    That is the question.
