1. Love coach o but no way we need to give our d to someone w/o DC experience.
  2. @bhelmLSU how will this effect recruiting in the short term, you think?
  3. Coach O does have DC experience, but not as long as Chavis or Steele.

From the USC website, "He also was the defensive coordinator in 2010 and 2011 and then the assistant head coach starting in 2012."

Bo Pelini was a DC for the same amount of time when he was given LSU's defense.

The players, recruits, and fans believe in him. Why not give him a shot?

  4. Why do people keep saying this? It's called Google.

  5. I wanted him as DC over Steele from the start.

  7. i would have liked to keep him until after signing day - then he could go.

  8. This is my thinking. Didn't want him here except to recruit. Some stability at DC would be nice however.

    Peveto, LaSalle? Lol meltdown ensues.
  9. I don't believe we even flirted with matching the offer from AU even though one article came out saying we were prepared to match. Whatever that means...

As for recruiting...don't see much effect. Steele was only a secondary recruiter on 3 guys we are targeting and their position coaches are still here and main recruiters.

Coach O doesn't have high aspirations for a DC gig. He would rather recruit and coach his Dline. However, money talks and if we pushed him into it with even more money he would give it consideration. I think he would rather us hire a DC he could work with so he can focus on his strenghts.
  10. I have seen Pendergrast and Aranda (Wisconsin DC) names thrown around quite a bit already.
