I'm annoyed we tried to pay more for him. Guess Les really wanted him.

Pretty much the same thing that is said about recruits too. For that matter, the same thing is usually said on any message board for any team about coaches, players, recruits etc...

I don't get the Pelini love, when he was here a lot of fans were getting tired of him as it appeared teams figured him out. I remember a lot of people were not disappointed to see him leave.

The DC should be given to Coach O.

To summarize, no LSU fan liked the hiring of Steele. His defense was pretty bad most of the year. They did pretty good in the bowl game. Some would have liked to see what he could have done with a couple more years but we're not sold on him. The overwhelming majority couldn't wait to see him leave. You're getting a very unproven DC with a lot of question marks. I don't think anyone really knows if he's qualified to coach an SEC defense or not, however that's Auburns problem now. Comparing the loss of Chavis to the loss of Steele is like comparing a firecracker to an atomic bomb. You won't see anyone here shedding tears over Steele.

Uh no, thanks for taking him. Never wanted him and I'm glad to see him go, especially to a team we play every year.

What is disturbing even though I don't like Steele anyway, is 2 years in a row your DC has jumped ship for a team inside the division.

This is probably the distraction Cam needed to get his one year extension. Glad to see Steele going. Wish he was taking Cam with him.

Agree. Looking at 2007 stats the last 8 games beginning with Florida thru the NC game (not counting La Tech) we gave up an average of 30 points a game. Hell, we didn't give up that much to TTech.

    Give the 'D' to 'O'.

I never liked the Steele hire. Week after week this season opposing offenses adjusted by late 2nd qtr and it looked like we resorted only to our athleticism , no real adjustments to counter their changes.
