Hunter needs another year. But honestly he is bigger than Mingo was and he is not just a pass rusher. He bats down a lot of balls, he can defend the run too, so who knows.
He got swallowed by double teams this year, he needs to learn how to get off those blocks. Pro QB are not going to be affected by him being close to them he will have to fight off the block and get in the backfield....something he did not do this year. He was kept at bay by lesser competition, now I am not sure it was his technique or if he took off a play like Sam, but that will not wash at the next level. Not bashing him because he is one of my favs, but I would like to see him be successful and not wash out in the NFL. He needs one more year of seasoning if his circumstances allow it. Very Raw Talent. Ten more pounds and better technique would do wonders for him.
i always said id take bennie logan over mingo or montgomery if needing both positions. just was a really solid player and still is. he does a lot more than his numbers show. but since its not a flashy position he gets overlooked.
LSU underclassmen get draft grades 4 hours ago Sure, LSU wraps up the 2014 season with a bowl game on Tuesday against Notre Dame, but most Tiger fans are concerned with something else this month. How hard will the NFL Draft hit LSU's lineup this time around? After losing more underclassmen to the NFL over the past two seasons than any other school in the country, the Tigers are on a quest to put a stop to the annual mass exodus. "We think that if a lot of these guys come back, we can do some really, really special things next year," said LSU sophomore cornerback Tre'Davious White, who said he has been in the ears of fellow defensive backs like Jalen Collins and Jalen Mills to return for another year of school. "Right now, I'm Les Miles and Frank Wilson. I'm just out there recruiting." Of course, the decision falls on the individuals, and this time around, the focus is on six names: Collins, Mills, defensive end Danielle Hunter, linebacker Kwon Alexander, offensive tackle Jerald Hawkins and offensive guard Vadal Alexander. Sophomore receiver Travin Dural has already announced his decision to return to school next season. None of the other six LSU players in question have announced their decision, and on Sunday, head coach Les Miles told the local media on hand in Nashville that none of the six have told him they are leaving. He also added that "several" underclassmen received draft grades and then told Miles they are staying. On Sunday, Collins and Vadal Alexander both confirmed that their draft grades came back as "stay in school". Both said they would sit down with family and make a final decision after the bowl game, with Collins adding that he was "on the fence" with whether or not he should leave early or come back for his fourth season in Baton Rouge. LSU sent in draft grades for everyone but Mills and Dural, and Miles confirmed that the NCAA denied the Tigers the chance to send in more than five names. No. Not a "question," per se. It's the NFL that made the ruling about only five per school. At least, that's the way it was reported. I was questioning the sentence, "the NCAA denied..." Grading prospects has nothing to do with the NCAA as far as I know.
