Lakers riots: Lakers fans get ugly after LA beats Boston in NBA finals - CSMonitor.com The New Orleans Saints win their first Super Bowl ever and i think what, 2 people were arrested? In New Orleans post Katrina at that.
And you don't think there are bandwagon fans in Los Angles? Come on. Going to the Laker game is more about being seen than it is about basketball.
There's quite a difference in the type of fans in New Orleans versus Los Angeles...and between the NFL and NBA. I didn't renew my Hornets tickets the past two years because I grew tired of the culture, the atmosphere, the "music", and the thugs that surround the arena and somehow manage to get good tickets. I'm not taking my kids to a game when they are subjected to hearing kids younger than them yelling..."m-f-er", m-f-ing a$$****, etc. etc. I can't/won't deal with the urban thrash that seems to congregate at NBA games. It's not a large percentage but enough to ruin the experience. If there were just a few and if their actions weren't too bad, I would still attend. Unfortunately there are too many and their actions are excessive, so they lost my support. It's also unfortunate that some of the players in the league are poster children for this type of behavior. A thug is a thug is a thug...no matter how well he plays basketball or how much money he makes. Maybe L.A. should boycott itself! :yelwink2:
agreed. I think New Orleans was one of the only recent major championship teams that did not have issues after the team won the title.
The only reason only 2 people were arrested is b/c the cops were partying, too! :hihi: Seriously though, there were studies that showed while the Saints were winning last year that crime was way down.
