The confusion here is that Richard Dickson the TE is a junior and a big fan favorite, while Ricky Dixon the WR is a redshirt sophomore who has a lot of great competition for the WR position.
Again, the most important stats are (in order of importance): 1. Rush Defense 2. Scoring Defense 3. Total Defense 4. Pass efficiency Defense And, look at the SEC passing attacks for 2008. We face run-first and run-or-die teams with the exception of Fla & USC. And, Visor Boy Spurrier doesn't have anything this year. We will beat Auburn and rule the West again, and that will leave Florida, who will likely overcome GA in the East. No turnover offensive smashmouth FB, boring and chain-moving, with an occasional big play. The statistics do not lie. The usual top 5 teams will challenge again in 2008. And, LSU is in that number. I see that 20 points per game in 2007 dropping almost a touchdown in 2008, a return to the notoriously vicious statistics of the 2003 team. Hell's coming, Tubberville, smoke 'em if you got 'em now!
No doubt. And they didn't ever face anything like Dorsey & Company. Ever wonder why Auburn hangs close to LSU each year? 1. LSU outrecruits Auburn consistently. 2. LSU players are acknowledged as bigger, stronger and faster overall when the matchups come out each year. It's because Auburn focuses on these portions of the game where statistics show games are won and lost. Only recently has LSU realized these points and have implemented them: Miles will bench a back who fumbles (Turnover ratio) Miles will play the more consistent players who grade out better over the more athletic yet inconsistent players Miles will play T.O.P. football and LSU consistently controls games Miles gambles when the other teams "set themselves up" by focusing in on LSU tendencies. It's really not a gamble when you have a good shot of pulling off a play after the other team's defense is "suckered". LSU's edge will show this year ... and Bowden was right about these statistics ... and LSU should be in the Top 3 again in 2008 in these stats. That means only one thing! Last man standing in SEC slugfest!
