What did everyone think? My 2 takeaways from Obama. Would be nice if the guy who gives the speeches was the guy who was President. Seems really late in the game for him to finally grow a pair of nuts. 2. I've never heard a President say they were flawed and human like he does so kudos for that. I can't comment on the republican counters because I just don't listen to them.
Lol. Strange that he never asked for so many freebies when Democrats controlled Congress. Interesting. Had I listened to the speech live, I would have been playing this....
i watched last night. it is sad that the party not sitting in the oval office can't clap for basic needs such as infrastructure, child care, etc. of course if the roles were reversed it would play the same. in rebuttal the gop trotted out someone who wore baggies on her feet to school to explain why infrastructure and child care is bad I'm so sick of republicans and democrats...........
Imagine if he did. What would the republicans have said? President Blackula just wants to hand out freebies to all the negroes. What's odd to me is I rarely hear the repunlicans or their supporters talk about all the freebies major corporations get, which are far greater than food stamps and a check for 200 a month. Even so, I don't care what they would have said, he found his balls 6 years too late.
Conversation at work this morning: Co-worker: Did you watch State of the Union last night? Me: No, I had to work late. Co-worker: You didn't miss much....it was a rerun.
It's pretty clear that this is pure democratic politics for 2016, throwing lobs for Hillary to dunk. This and more you will see in the next two years will all be things that the GOP is guaranteed to oppose, no matter how popular or reasonable they sound. The Republicans are suddenly trying to look like achievers after 6 years of obstructionism. But Obama is going to make sure they keep exposing themselves as the party of NO, the party of gridlock, and the party of the rich and influential.
http://uspolitics.about.com/od/thecongress/tp/10-Wealthiest-Members-of-the-113th-Congress.htm 7 of 10 are white Democrats and just 1 female.
I laughed when Obama zinged the republicans. That was pretty funny. He's pretty quick on his feet. I like seeing the human side of these guys. I bet Barack could talk some smack on the basketball court back in the day.
I did not complain about members of Congress being rich, good for them. I complain about Republican members of Congress voting in the best interests of the rich special interests that fund their campaigns rather than their constituents.
