Who will be LSU's starting quarterback? Will we have a carousel like in '04? What role will Jordan Jefferson play? Will he be like Perrilloux was last year? Or will he redshirt?
I think Hatch gets the nod for the first 2 games of the season based on seniority (although he's been in the program just as long as Lee). Lee will get lots of playing time though & will start the 3rd game. I think Jordan Jefferson comes in for a few plays and mop up duty & does not redshirt.
Agree - with one possible exception. I think it's very possible (almost a toss up) that Lee wins the job in the summer and keeps it. I don't think JJ redshirts based on depth chart issues and also what's on his heels next year.
a friend of mine made a good point last season. I was doubting flynn's abilities and i asked why would Miles start him over Perrilloux. my friend said that he's sending a message to players that stay 4 years even though they don't play the first 2 or 3 years. That if you commit to the team, you'll get your shot as a senior. so, i went with Hatch starting and Lee taking over IF Hatch can't get it done.
I voted Jarret Lee. I don't think Hatch would get the start for 2 games, because if Lee is the guy, he will need all the game experience he can get to be ready for Auburn. Lee was well regarded out of high school, not so much for Hatch. Hatch may have to play in backup role the first two games if Lee does not move the team. I see Jefferson getting warmed up and not red shirting. is thin at QB, and Sheppard is coming next year, with the guy from Miss. Jefferson needs to get some experience, IMO.
Hatch and Lee will split time until one separates himself. Les can't afford to put all his eggs in one basket. Under normal circumstances the senior would start, but since Hatch transferred in at the same time as Lee signed, it's a wash.
I would assume following fall practice the coaching staff will have an idea who will or who they want to start. Seems like they would want Lee to be that guy since he is younger and each QB has the same amount of experience. They will probably each get snaps in the first two games with the "favorite" from the fall getting the majority. My guess is Miles would probably like for one to step up (preferably the same guy who did it in fall camp) so he can play most of our third game.
The objective will be to do the right thing to get someone ready for the Auburn game, start of SEC play. Auburn is week 4, first 3 weeks are finding out what you have to know to play well at Auburn, and put a guy in position to win, by getting him the experience he needs to be comfortable, and for the team to be comfortable with him.
Thats what I was implying. I just planned it out for Miles in case he was trolling the site later. Having a Russell/Randall rotation where nobody steps up again would be terrible.
