Now that NS players are gone so is the defensive strength of this team. We just don't have the same type of players we had on that side of the ball.

Defense wins championships and our defense leaves something to be desired.

That is not the reason. F N.S. The reason is because Bo Pelini is gone. There is absolutely no decent coaching on the defensive side.

Let's not be so quick to jump on the coaches just because of one loss. Wait and see what the defense looks like after the season.

Fair enough but NS is the defensive guru. I'd give Bo Pelini a bunch of credit as well.

Offense will not win squat. We better get this defense fixed in a hurry or it a 8-4 season.

Absolutely...the two defensive coordinator move-up worried the heck out (when it was done) of me for the reason we saw tonight. We should have hired a proven coordinator. Probably STILL should.

Six game in and the D still looks awful. How many more games do you need? How many sacks do we have this year?

This bend and don't break crap, along with the co-coordinators, is ridiculous. We need to pay big money to a guy who knows defense, not a couple of guys who are ST/position coaches.

Agree completely. Most of the time in football, "co-coaching" NEVER works because you have two opinions that sometimes oppose each other which usually results in harming the team.

My guess is it will be tough sledding on the defense the rest of the year.

How do you drop off from a top 5 defense 4 of the last 5 years to maybe # 6 or 7 in your own conference. Heck 4 years ago when we lost all those seniors and won the first NC that team came back and was a top 5 defense again I believe.

Uhh.....not to throw water on this fire, but anyone think an offense featuring last year's Heisman Trophy winner, one of the nation's best all-purpose players, and 2 guys with Trindon Holliday-speed taking turns getting the ball had anything to do with tonight?

I would have to agree about the concern over the choice of going co-defensive coordinators.

It's fairly evident on the field that these kids are not well prepared and there is way too much confusion and miscommunication that points directly to coaching.

Not to mention, we have absolutely no effect with the blitzing that we do because it isn't well schemed.
