STRONG rumors that another commit may come today or tom. as well...also, it appears Troy Giddens earned an official offer at the camp!

Seems like Bani's dad may want him to visit another school or two just to be sure, he's apparently talking over the decision right now. Hope he stays with us, but even if he's visits Penn State as planned, I like our chances - this is indeed football country (as Bani was quted as saying). No ripping on the parents, they are just doing what they feel is the right thing for their son.

Glad to see Giddens get an offer. From the Scout article I read on him it sounds like he would probably come here if he got the offer. Also I didn't know it but he is originally from SoCal.

Where did you read that? The article I read had him saying that he had closed the process and wouldn't visit any more schools?

The latest news is now that everything is settled with his parents, I think Mom was actually the one that was trying to talk him out of it, and he is listed as a solid verbal.

Nice pickup for us! I was impressed with him from the moment I first read about him on rivals.

With Clemons, Gbadyu, and McCray all on board and all listed as Saftey/OLB's, Hewitt may be committing soon as well.

In today's game, where OLB's and SS are virtually identical in terms of size and speed, having this much versitility is going to be HUGE for us! C'mon HEWITT AND SHANKLE!! GEAUX TIGERS!!!!

Gbadyu was quoted on Rivals as saying that Miles was fired up about his commitment to the Tigers today and said that no matter what happens from now on LSU would take care of him and honor their scholarship (even if he gets hurt this year) and guarantee him his education.

In return Gbadyu told Coach miles that LSU would do more for him than he could ever do for the University. Now isn't that a breath of fresh air to hear from a recruit with scholarship offers from just about every top 5 program in the country.

Reminds me of the attitude of a freshman safety that lost his redshirt in the last regular season game of the year, and when asked about it he said "I play for the name on the side of my helmet not the name on the back of my jersey." Those are the players that get me FIRED UP!!

I found this info about Bani

    Bani Gbadyu (http://ohiostate.rivals.com/viewprospect.asp?pr_key=33590)
    Outside linebacker / Safety
    Gaithersburg (MD) Quince Orchard
    Height: 6-foot-1
    Weight: 205 pounds
    40-yard dash: 4.52 seconds
    Bench max: 275 pounds
    Squat max: 405 pounds
    Vertical leap: 39 inches
    Shuttle time: 4.19 seconds
    GPA: 2.5 (summer school)

According to MDVarsity.com, Gbadyu is the number 11 prospect in the state of Maryland for the class of 2006. Bani has 16 offers, including from Nebraska, Oklahoma, Boston College, Michigan State, and Penn State.

Bani is originally from Liberia, but left the war-torn country as a child while his parents remained behind; his father was able to emigrate to the States five years ago, but his mother's whereabouts are unknown. A very interesting and touching story, told in great depth in the following articles:

    Nebraska Rivals - part I (05/19/05) (http://ohiostate.rivals.com/content.asp?CID=418009)
    Nebraska Rivals - part II (05/19/05) (http://ohiostate.rivals.com/content.asp?CID=418014)

At the recent Elite Combine, Gbadyu posted a standing broad jump of 10 feet 8 inches (camp best), a 4.62 40-yard time, and a 4.21 shuttle time.

    Penn State Rivals (05/23/05) (http://ohiostate.rivals.com/content.asp?CID=418990)

Although he does not have a scholarship offer from Ohio State, Bani is interested in the Bucks.
