I think, when all is said and done, and his career is completed, you have to add CLM to that list. The guy has won more games at LSU than anybody, has 2 NC appearances, and 1 win, so far. No matter how frustrating the offense has been, and some of his decisions, etc, no one can deny his success. He needs to be on any statue list, imo.
Terry, Terry . . . never let anybody around here know what you are sensitive about or you will never hear the end of it. We all know that Bama is overly proud of those football championships because they have so few in any other sport. LSU 43 NCAA championships . . . Alabama 11.
i wonder if the saban statue would come down like saddams if nick left for auburn at some point. this would be awesome simply for college football to observe the social impact in that state. the tree poisoner wouldnt be shit if this happened.
It wouldn't be the statute they tore down. Would be St. Nick himself. Probably get whacked by one of his Alabama State Trooper bodyguards
Guys I didn't mean for this to turn into a Bama thread. LSU has a long history to be proud of and I think it would complement the grand stadium that we all love with the players and coaches that made it that way. Not sure about Saban until long time has passed but that is another topic. We have many of the people that have been mentioned. Have any of you ever been to the san Francisco giants baseball stadium. Willie Mays statue is amazing and a way for Giants fans to always remember part of their past. That is what I am talking about. Not a competition with some other school. Just something to think about.
Love using those track and field numbers to bolster the count, don't ya? Tsk, tsk, tsk. Your count is wrong, red. If you are going to use track and field, then you have to take into account other sports in Tuscaloosa. There have been eight since Saban took the football program over. Sensitive? I ask @LaSalleAve if he knew why there was a statue there in the first place. I assumed he didn't. I assumed correctly.
I still don't understand it. It seems like something that a very insecure person(s) administration, fan base, program, fill in the blank would do. And I'm not just saying that because of my disdain for Alabama football. I'd say the same thing if LSU did it. But if that's the tradition that's the tradition. I'm curious, were all the other statues built while the coach was still coaching there? Oh and by the way you take out all the track championships, LSU still has 5 more.
