I was listening to a new CD I ordered off ebay and it had Billy Cannon song and Archie Who song and I was thinking of the LSU greats we have had the honor of enjoying all these years and some of the special people who have put it on the line for LSU. And I want to remember them with Statues. I go to A T & T park home of the San Francisco Giants and there are the statues of Mays, Marachal, Cepeda, Mccovey, and they are a way of remembering the past and the people that made your organization part of history. There would need to be certain criteria but this needs to happen. And what a recruiting tool that tells kids that if you work hard enough and use you talent you will be recognized forever in Tiger Land. Our Stadium is part of History and it is amazing that what started in 1924 is such a special place and has the air of the past and I get chills when I am lucky enough to get the privilege of attending a game. I wish the the Tiger Boosters would push for this and help make it happen. I have seen others post on it and I just want to keep it alive.
Y.A. Tittle, Steve Van Buren, Billy Cannon, Jerry Stovall, Tommy Casanova, Bert Jones, Eric Andolsek, Charles Alexander, Glenn Dorsey, Patrick Peterson. Tyrann Mathieu got kicked off the team but a I would still give him a statue but LSU won't. I would also include Rohan Davey
Has anybody heard of Doc Fenton? He was th QB of the 10-0 1908 team that scored 441 points ang gave up only 11. Give Doc a statue too. I saw a story yesterday where that team was given the Nati Championship by the National Football Foundation and there is talk to count it as well as 1935, 1936 and 1959 teams that some award giver named as champs. Hey, we're not gumps but 1908 was legit. You could also give statues to Paul Dietzel, Charlie McClendon, Les Miles and yes, Nick Saban
I wouldn't want a statue of a coach unless it was a old coach long retired and it goes to show you how ridiculous either Bama fans are or how much of an egomaniac Saban is. Who has ever heard of a statue being erected of a current player or coach? Like how much grief would LeBron get if a statue was erected of him in Cleveland this year? Or if Tom Brady or Belichick had one erected this year in New England, that's probably a better comparison. Wait til the mother fucker retires. Unless it was a calculated move by paranoid Bama fans and the administration to try and hold Saban in Tuscaloosa. Lol, that's kind of funny when you think about it.
