What did ya'll think of Searels as your OL coach? I ask because Auburn has asked and been given permission to talk to him at Georgia.

I was not at all happy to see him go. I think he is a very good coach.

For years he was very well regarded. He left the same time as Jimbo Fisher, after the 06 season. As I recall, there was some dissatisfaction with the efficiency of the running game. I don't know, maybe Miles had to keep Fisher and his staff in 05, and with Fisher leaving, Miles wanted to put his own people in. For all his years except the last one, I always heard good things about him. I'd say he's good.

Searles was liked by his players but his offensive lines underperformed, especially in his last year here.

Well, they could not have underperformed anymore than this years line.

Very good coach who played at Auburn and even a better person. His family and he are very nice people. Hated to see them leave. He is originally from GA and after his father's death wanted to move closer to home to be near his mother so he took the UGA job. :helmet:
