tweets from Darryl Slater, University of South Carolina beat reporter for The Post and Courier in Charleston...

--Spurrier chatted with media at halftime of hoops game (the Arkansas @ South Carolina game) about Lawing, Lattimore, Carson/baseball. Then things got weird.

--Steve Spurrier asked reporters a trivia question at half. He gave the two who got it an envelope with a $100 bill inside and walked away.

--the question Spurrier asked reporters was: Name the CFB teams with 11 wins each of past two years. It's South Carolina, Bama, Stanford, Oregon.

--Spurrier had a stack of envelopes in the inside breast pocket of his blazer. Pulled them out at end of interview and handed two to hacks.

--And yes, after holding up the $100 bills that Spurrier just gave to reporters, the bills had the strip inside them and are real. Very odd.

--Just to be clear: The reporters who Spurrier handed envelopes to didn't know what was inside. Spurrier walked away. Then they peeked inside.

--Would presume that those guys will not be keeping Spurrier's $100 bills. What a totally random thing for him to do.

--What a weird day at Colonial Life Arena. Spurrier pulls his $100 stunt and USC hoops wins by largest margin in SEC game in nearly 7 years.
