Just read a scrimmage recap on tigerbait and noticed this announcement from Miles: Anyone want to guess who that might be? http://lsu.rivals.com/content.asp?CID=785768
http://www.lsusports.net/ViewArticl...64&DB_OEM_ID=5200&ATCLID=785356&Q_SEASON=2008 that's my guess, b/c he has played a little both ways to begin with.
Jacob was hurt all of last year, and was more effective his freshman year. If he's healthy this fall he will be the starter. I disagree with you - he has good instincts and brings his weight with him. I acknowledge his change of direction is not great.
When I read the article in the Advocate I was thinking him or Brooks. But he also said an DL to an OL.
SS Coleman Jones FS Taylor Danny McCray Stephon Francios Nickel Danny McCray John Williams is the corner that will move to WR he looked very good returning punts, looks good with the ball in his hands. Jacob Cutrea has great speed regardless of what anyone thinks he can run.
Against Arky, Dmac busted a long one with Catrera in the game. Looked to me like he overran the play and was out of position. We had 2 LB behind our right DE, and Dmac cut it back to his right, and there was a huge hole and nobody home. To me, that's inexperience. I think a coach can show the film, talk about what you're supposed to do, and Jacob can get better. To his physical tools, I can't speak, haven't seen enough. I am optimistic that Jacob will learn from his mistakes and come back this year and be a better player, like most players improve with experience. It's why Jr.s are better generally than Soph.s, and most teams that win championships are heavy with Sr.s.
Channel 2 intimated that Miles is not really all that happy with his team right now, hence the extra running. Anyone got any insight on what's up? Could it be a little complacency has set in?
I tend to discount everythink I hear coming from TV stations, but then again I don't know the guys at Ch. 2. One thing that I've thought about is you guys are losing a hell of a lot of Sr. leadership. I've seen the loss of 2-3 players change the make up of a team completely...as I've seen the addition of a few change an outlook as well: some good, some bad.
