I remember alot of #54 out of position and seeing the back of his jersey alot as he chased RB's down the field to no avail. To say the least I have not been very impressed with Cutera and Riley when they have been in the game. Granted they are always playing against another teams 1's but they just always seem to get jumbled up in the mix or lose complete sight of the RB's. Now I do remember Sheppard on special teams making alot of plays. He always seemed to have a nose for the ball on sp, but I don't remember him playing alot of LB - maybe someone can shed some light on his abilities/strengths. For some reason I have hope in Shammori Clemmons, but I have seen reports that he is lining up at the MLB position which dosen't help us much this year unless our stud Beckwith goes down. We also signed Prather who was recurited by OU and Baker who was recruited by Florida......I'm hoping they are the real deal and can help us out in 09'. LB is my favorite position and hope we can find another Lionel Turner, SOON!
Kudos to the LSU coaches for working together. I have no insight to how this worked in the past (or didn't), but the baseball coach seems enlightened about Chad Jones and football, and Miles seems enlightened about TH. They seem to have the kids best interests at heart! I'm impressed!!! Geaux Tiger Coaches!!! :geaux: Man, being a Tiger fan these days is COOL!!!
Cajun l i Cali...ever heard of the "Dream Team"? Also, last Olympics, Team USA Baseball was comprised of pretty much nothing but MLB players.
"Based on the little the media is allowed to see, Jarrett Lee appears to be well ahead of Andrew Hatch at this time. Lee has better mechanics, better footwork, a quicker release, a stronger and more accurate arm, and throws a better ball. Hatch probably has Lee on experience just because he got more reps last season."
What I have illustrated here is the probability that I have not cared about the Olympics since requiring armature status! I hate it when I make it easy for ya... Back to Spring Practice
I had a strong feeling that this was, indeed, the case. In fact, I also figured if Flynn had been injured during the RP suspension, that Lee would've had his redshirt lifted. I imagine that many people are simply unaware of Lee's abilities, but I'm sure he's pretty good. He was at least as heralded out of high school as Matt Flynn--in fact, I believe he was more heralded.
In fact, considerably more heralded. He was 7th best pro style QB from that class (better than Jefferson is ranked this past year). I can't remember if it was Burton who said it (recruiting guru), but whoever it was they said he could end up being the best of the class when all was said and done. Something to that effect. It was an eye catching commentary.
Let's not get it twisted. This Lee kid isn't the end-all, either. At least not right now. He is still way young, though and will develop into a fine player. If I had to make a comparison, he would be a Marcus Randall, at best right now. If Perrilloux is hurt during the season, we become a run-heavy team, instantly.
