Based on what I saw: Boutte and Kirklin good at receiver worried about depth after those two QB's made some mistakes but look good at times, thinking - Brennan is QB1, Johnson QB2 Secondary play was good, questions about safety may be answered Kicking game again looks solid Worried about running backs and depth there Worried about front 7 on D, mostly at LB. Lot of short middle passes were successful. Worried about pass protection from O Line. Looked good at times and bad at times. QB play looks pretty good right now, all four appear decent. Not sure if any approach Natty or SEC championship level Need some unknown people to develop into bad asses to be significantly better than last year. Having said all that spring games don't mean a thing.
Overall I liked what I saw. The quarterbacks looked good compared to pasted spring games, which was cringeworthy some years. All the other units played well with few mistakes, especially the secondary. The Oline seemed to struggle at the beginning of the game, but got better in the second half. Our new coaches looked fired up and ready for the season. I’m looking forward to the 2021 season. It could be another great one.
Saw this at another site and thought it was worth posting here cause it sums up my thoughts You seem to be putting a bit too much stock into the spring game. 1) The team was split in half. So the talent at skill positions was also split in half. 2) We only had 1 RB available - TDP. 3) We ran a very vanilla offense and defense. I will add we are loaded in the secondary, everyone caught well, Nick Storz will be a factor at TE and it's Brennan and Johnson's team at QB. TJ won't last and transfer. There is hope at LB but not deep yet. We will be fine at WR lot of talent there and more coming in. The DL has talent everywhere. The OL looks solid to me and we are deep there as we have ever been.
