That is a long drive from VA unless he took a plane. Either way it shows he is very serious about us. The unique situation with him having an offer in track and football from LSU gives us an advantage. Normally, the chance of us getting an OOS recruit is not good. For every 10 we offer we may get 1 or 2 (wild guess), but I think we have a great shot at this guy unless someone else decides to offer him in both sports. The other thing is that as a combination our track and football team are hard to beat. Both tend to be in the top 5 or 10 year in and year out. Not too many other programs can claim that distinction and it is no guarantee those other programs will offer him. As DD would say "I like our chances".
I wouldn't be too surprised if he decided to go ahead and commit this weekend. A guy with his size and jumping ability is too good not to have a commitable offer. Red Zone offense would be tough to defend. Shouldn't scare off Reed either since they will play different WR spots. However, he has said he wants to take all of his official visits.
Ronnie Vinson and Travis Dickson both have prom tonight so won't make it. However, Vinson's parents decided to come in for the Spring game anyway.
I saw Eric Reid, Kenny Hilliard, and Chris Faulk there. A couple others with nametags, just don't remember their names. Also i talked to colt david, very cool guy
This is starting to get depressing. Can we get any freaking major recruit to take a trip down here this year? Lattimore, Seastrunk, Dyer, Patton, now Nelson. Seems like we're a afterthought for every major recruit this year. Someone always jumps in and gets the visit instead, while LSU will get a visit "later"...o:
put the gun down for a second. Seastrunk was the one that convinced Lattimore to change his visit to Auburn. i said put it down!
Did Damien Robinson visit LSU for the game. He was back and forth about coming to AU, heard it did not make it and may have been at LSU instead.
Next time tell him to give his shoestrings to someone too! Has anyone heard from him since this debilitating post.
FWIW, I talked to a family member of his this morning and he said he thinks LSU is still the team to beat for Lache.
