As I read this my nine year old is commenting on how smart Les Miles is. How he isn't afraid to crazy make calls and wins games. Maybe he is on to something. :hihi:
:geaux: I don't hate our coach. Not at all. But our QB play SUCKS and it is disheartening to say the least. No two ways about it. If LSU had an adequate QB right now I'd say we had a shot at an SEC or even NCS with the defense we have. If JJ stays in we lose at least 3, IMO. Lee may not be the answer either, but I'm ready for him to have his shot. Next week would be a good time for him to get it. :LSU231:
You cant say that and be 100% right. Our turn overs arent give-mes' We force those turn overs and we will continue to force them. LSU has put together good drives. It is a matter of the O playing on the same page. Lets be clear, JJ started off HOT. he was 4-5 and the only incompletion was do to TT playing poorly again.. After so many drops in the first half, JJ started making bad decisions along with the coaches.. As a fan, we have to hope that these EASY things can and will be fixed... 12 pens for 120 yards..... Drive enders..
I certainly don't hate CLM. And, I didn't read articles to suggest that that was the intent of the articles.
This is a good point. No matter how good your O is, you NEED D to win games. With that said, This D is NC capable... Have the O play 50% better, which isnt much and LSU gets 10 wins. Have the 0 play 75% better and LSU gets 11 wins and the SEC Have the O play 100% better and, really, who can beat us?
I can say it, it's my opinion. Getting the ball at the 7 yard line is a gimme for the Offense. We've driven the ball at times but we have not scored TD's. You're basically saying that we need to depend on the defense to get us turnovers and for special teams to score TDs. That will not get us 9 wins, the offense is going to have to get more productive. Going with your theory though....in addition to the masterful 7 yard drive, we got an interception and started at the WVU 41 and only came up with a FG. Against MSU, 5 interceptions resulted in 3 FG's and 1 TD (which was a whopping 3 play drive). Defense wins championships but the offense has to score...we're ranked 103rd in points, I don't care how good your special teams and defense are, NO team wins 9 games with that kind of offensive output....at least not in the SEC.
And up until now, the O has done just enough. Look, we all agree that the O needs to step up. But A BIG problem with the O are self inflicting penalty's.. Hell, even with JJ throwing as bad as he did, we could have scored 2 more times with 0 pens on O. That is the easiest thing to fix IMO Just get the damn O on the same page... And yes, you can rely on the D to create turn overs, ITS THEIR JOB.. Turnover doesn't not always mean a pic or fumble, often it consist of a 3 and out... LSU will find a way, we won 9 games last year with this O.......:LSU231:
UNC game 8 penalties-65 yds Game closer than it should have been Vandy game 3 penalties-15 yds Game won easily MSU game 5 penalties-40 yds Game won easily WVU game 12 penalties-a BUNCH of yds Game closer than it should've been Gotta keep the penalties down. And many of the penalties last night were personal foul 15 yd variety. Against MSU, a phantom block in the back hurt bad. Without that one, it's 4 for 25 yds. Not bad. Against UNC, it was a couple of 15 yd variety with roughing the kicker...HUGE penalty.
