No it is more than that, they are talking big money but still suspect as hell. I'm sure some of it went on but nothing to get worked up about.

If you look at the bottom there is an article that says Manziel is Saban's type of player. Do people even research anything anymore? Saban would have turned Manziel into a defensive back.

It also says the "host girls" or whatever they are were told to sleep with big-time recruits.

I think he watched a little too much "Blue Mountain State", took some LSD, and shat out a story.

Remember that I often say that a sports writer's job is to sell ads and that truth is secondary? This is what greeted me when I clicked the link to the story:

I'll read the drivel later when I have time to line their pockets by clicking on an ad.

And there's the rub. You have to click on one of the ads before you can read the story.

Enjoyed hearing from the people up there. 107.7 did a great job this morning.

I can give a number of stories over the years from LSU. One of the better:

To this day, many people in the state of Tx still think Harvey Williams was payed to attend LSU. I am still friends with the coach that recruited Harvey. I remember him telling me, "Pay him, I was making just enough money to support my family!" Then there was talk of Harvey getting a car, I had a open pass to practice during that time. Bondo was the only thing holding that car together.

I have sat down an talk with coaches many times on their stories during recruiting. nick was hired Nov. 30, 1999. I got a call from a friend that Jimbo was gonna be hired. Jimbo got to looking at what LSU had on the roster and he needed a QB. He call a mutual friend and asked who he could get as a last minute player. My friend told Jimbo, go to Glen Oaks and look at the Marcus Randall kid. He and nick did and got him to come to LSU. Blue Gay was on a visit to bama, he was told by his head coach at Brusly, hey hold off with bama, the LSU staff wants to talk with you.

Many think Gerry D was the guy that got Kevin Faulk to LSU, but there is a back story to that one. Ask Kevin, who was the coach that use to call you Hoss? He knows.

For LSU to get the first LSU player to declare after his Jr year to the NFL, a few things had to fall in line. Oh, that player was Eddie "Boo" Kennison. To get some of these players over the years, things had to fall into place.

So did you get to listen for a bit? Sam is a pretty good dude and seems to be a straight shooter.

Follow the money - all the way around. From Boone Pickens to Sports Illustrated.

Correct me if Im wrong, but wasn't SI the magazine that PAID people to say negative things to boost their story about Honey Badger a couple of years ago?
