Tide lost quite a few offensive and defensive playmakers. they won't make it undefeated this year. LSU gonna beat them by 14. we're heading back for the NC game and bama going 10-2.
They don't. Neither do they have the best qb in football, the best defense in football, the best program in football, or the best coach. No matter what the sunshine pumpers of the diluted fans would have us believe. But then again, we lost Russell, Landry, Bowe, and Davis, all in the first round if I remember correctly, and won a national championship the following season.
I think Alabama flat out rolls Michigan. Just like us against Oregon last year. Those kids will not know what him. I am not saying Michigan is bad. But this is the SEC, its different and Michigan is going to suffer the same fate Oregon did last year. "My god they are so big and fast, that is not like our league" again those divisions are good but when you take on the creme of the crop of the SEC (IE LSU, Bama etc) against one of the better teams from Big 10 or Pac 12 they usually get steamrolled. So history says.
Kinda hard to get purple nation with the Crimson program, so far. Let me get the olive branch going. I got the Tigers 3 and 0, out the gate.
I see a lot of reasons to believe Arkansas will not be a factor this season. John L Smith has had one team in his many years as a head coach finish in the top 25 at seasons end. That's going back through four different coaching jobs he held for more than just a couple of years at each stop. Secondly, if you look at what happens when interim coaches when they take over in situations like this, well, it isn't pretty. Heck, look at OSU this past season. There's a team who had six consecutive seasons with double-digit wins but only manage to get six wins in the regular season this past year. While Petrino has consistently beaten teams how have recruited on par with him, when he runs into teams who have recruited better he's had very little success. I believe it's a total of our wins over his career. He hasn't recruited well at Arkansas. He's been in the bottom tier of the SEC each and every year. Was he a good game day coach and play caller? Yes, because he put his players in position to make plays when he made the play calls. I don't believe his brother has the same ability. His offense sure crashed and burned his last season in Illinois before he returned to Fayetteville. I can easily see them losing four games this year.
That same offensive line was shuffled several times that season due to injury. In fact, we had a total of 30+ games missed by starters that year due to injuries. Complacency had a lot to do with it. No doubt.
How generous of you. Seriously, I think 'Bama will spank the living Urban Meyer out of Michigan, and start the SEC vs the world debate up again.
I don't see them in the championship hunt, but they could be a factor. They could be stronger than Auburn in the West.
If we take UArk, we have some things to actually point to as "question marks." IE: JLS and his lack of teams finishing in the top 25. With Auburn in 2012? I expect their defense to be improved next season. What Loeffler is bringing to the table as the OC? There's the question mark. I do believe you are right. It's between Auburn and UArk for that third place in the West. I think of the Cap One, and the Cotton, and wonder how much difference we'll find in the W/L column between East and West teams when it comes to their regular season records. One thing I do believe. This year will mimic last year. We'll have the SEC in thirds..top, middle, and bottom. (can we say last year was in thirds? I don't think we can call UGA in the top third last year even though they made it to ATL. Can we?)
