Too much is spent on 40 times, weights and heights. You can play football or you can't. Its simple. LSU had a player come out one year that was too small and too slow. Undrafted, he's now in his 11th. year in the NFL playing in one of the more complex defenses. He finished last year, third on the team in total tackles. This player has the Sickle Cell Trait (because of this, whenever his team plays in Denver, he does not play). At the age of 31, no one has taken his job. :thumb:
Wow, I don't know much about sickle cell. That's crazy. Glad he came out alright though. Never like to hear about that kind of thing.
Ryan has never let this slow him down, its a great story. To go from undrafted to now one of the top 6 Free Safeties in the NFL. He and Polamalu form a great tandem. Those two are a good reason why the Steelers are 1st. against the rush, 1st. in Points Allowed and 1st. in Sacks, in the NFL
LSU had another player drafted in the 7th. round, he suffered a torn ACL in training camp as a Rookie, missing the entire season. His second year the starting OG went down in a game, the line coach moved the starting center over to guard and put him in at center. He is one of the few players to stay with the same team, been with them for over 13 years. At one time in his career, he was going to move away from that team, if a certain head coach came back, lucky for him(And the team) that coach took a college job. Hes the shortest OC in the NFL, with over 12 years in the league. :geauxtige
