I'll write Positive Social Impact on the next brick I throw. Even peaceful demonstrations are not going to end racism. Athletes kneeling is not going to end racism. Rioting will increase racism and so will kneeling during the national anthem.

If Joe Snotface breaks a store window and Ja 'Saalam beats a white person to death it won't end racism. People should just be themselves and be the best themselves they can be. That's what will earn them respect from society in general

It doesn’t, but you know there is more to what’s going on than the looting, burning, and killing. You need to separate the two. The looting crime has to stop. The peaceful protest and unification needs to continue.

So you’re suggesting that they not do any of the individuals acts just because each individual act will not stop racism by itself? I suppose MLK should never have marched on Washington since it wasn’t going to end racism?

He was on the ground, face down, hand cuffed, with 4 officers exerting force. He couldn’t do anything but comply.

Greater police oversight and training. It’s desperately needed.

Which is why you should be smart enough to listen to officers, even when they are wrong.

Its like that Dallas guy trying to attack and defend his area from an angry mob, they beat the every living shit out of him. All he had was a sword.

    Dude was equally as dumb.

That's a great thought, but particularly after listening to the brother's angry call for the violence to stop, what's missing is an internal effort by the peaceful protesters to stop their events from being co-opted. I saw one video, not sure where it happened, where an agitator was trying to break up concrete for rocks to throw, and two protesters grabbed him and literally threw him to the cops. If we were to see more of that, then I could really get behind the idea that the protesters are for law and order. In the meantime, Chauvin has been in custody for several days, and I just saw some "spokeswoman" saying until he's convicted, there's no justice. Well I thought justice meant a fair trial? If he doesn't get convicted (and right now, I think that's inconceivable, but I would have thought this insurrection in America was inconceivable a week ago), will it all start up again? Will there be a lynch mob, perhaps?

So the people who are protesting can’t exercise their constitutional rights to gather and speak freely because other citizens are committing crimes at the same time? I don’t think you would apply that train of thought to any scenario outside of the political realm.

As unlikely as it may be, I hate to think what will happen if he isn't convicted.
