    this is trump appealing to his dumber voters, just as he was doing with the his social media executive order. it worked on some folks here

    Have any of you been to Mount Rushmore? When we were in Iowa, we were going to go (even from there it was a long trip). Everyone I talked to said not to go, it would be disappointing. They said the carvings were much smaller than you imagine. It was better to have a vision of a grand monument. Was hoping to get a better idea of scale from Trump’s shindig, but I saw very little of it.

    I’ve never been there but was disappointed in the Alamo.... I guess I thought i was going to see John Wayne there

    was a bit surreal to see it surrounded by large buildings, etc

    I meant why is TR on My Rushmore anyway. He was never considered one of the great presidents

    Teddy was the first great advocate of our country’s engagement into world affairs. He sent the Great White Fleet around the world to demonstrate our power. He also won the Nobel Peace Prize for negotiating the end of the Russo-Japanese War. Washington and Jefferson for the birth, Lincoln for holding it together and Teddy for its debut as a world power.
