Yes, that was down inside the 10 on 2nd down, so we got a 1st out of it and moved up a couple of yards.

I don't know if it was the play pictured, but I recall the Dawgs being called for at least one 15 yard face mask penalty yesterday.

Speaking of facemask penalties, did anyone else notice the contact to Petterson's facemask when he was in front of Green, and Green had to play defender. On the slow motion, you could clearly see Petterson's head turn and contact to the facemask. It was not a facemask grab. I wonder if your hand is flat and you push a facemask, is that a penalty? Or does it have to be a grab?

For whatever the reason, offensive players get away with pushing/shoving defenders even if it's a hands to the face (except if it's an OLineman against a defender).

A ballcarrier is allowed to "stiff arm" whereby shoving the defender's facemask. Why is this so ironically one-sided??? I have no idea.

since the rule is there to prevent injuries, they allow the offense to place their hand on the facemask, they just cant pull on it or move it. they allow the offense to do it because there is a smaller chance of an injury occurring since they arent taking the opponent to the ground.

it was called but the umpire missed it. (it's his responsibility)

the flag came from some back judge who was at least 20 yards away from the play. another example of the fine officiating we saw yesterday.
