if I ever hear anyone say anything about Chris Paul being the best player in the world ever again, I think I might punch that person in the jaw. Kobe took over this game with the pressure of the world (literally) on his back and rode home a gold medalist. I don't mean to offend you, TB3, but man, I hate Pau Gasol and his little punk brother. If this game were officiated by people without an agenda, they'd have both fouled out in the 1st quarter.
Spain showing real class here, getting one unsportsmanlike foul after another with the outcome now decided. They have been some little bitches all game, throwing towels on the court, etc... Could a team be any less deserving of their silver medal, considering they defamed the entire country of China at their photo shoot earlier in the Games?

Glad you can sleep at night. However, the bandwagoners here may not agree. CP3 is great. But so are people like Carson Palmer. People like MJ win Gold when THEY want to.
my thing was never against Paul. he is the best PG in the NBA and will be one of the best PG's ever. Kobe is the 2nd best player ever. That's all I ever am saying. That was an emotional, physical, NBA Finals Game 7 like game. Doug Collins said it the best -- all the NBA guys who chickened out of the Olympics are real upset with themselves right now. Expect Garnett and some of the others to try to get on board in 2012. My thing with Pau is that he just makes it impossible for me to cheer for him, because it's so blatantly obvious after performances like his tonight that sometimes in the NBA he just wings it and doesn't punch back when someone punches him first. If he played all of the time the way he did tonight, he would be a freak. But instead, he chooses to be bullied sometimes (ala the NBA Finals). No one can tell me that Kendrick Perkins and guys like Leon Powe are better defenders than Dwight Howard. B/c Pau made Howard look like a wuss today. Either way, the Kwame for Gasol trade doesn't look nearly as bad by the day for Memphis, because Marc will be a very good pro, too. He lacks the skill of Paul, but he has a big bruiser body.
I know, mine was for the ignorant Hornets (one or two) fans here. That was a great point made by Collins. Im impressed that Melo and James came back and competed after the '04 games. The guys that are scared of "bombs" can suck it. Coach Rat will get too much credit as usual but what do I care. Geaux USA!
