The pressure is on Alabama and Oregon and every good team out there, the difference between those teams and LSU this year is the level of performance fluctuating so much with many of the same players back this season. I don't think you would see near the criticism if the offense performed AT ANY consistent and acceptable level of play.........that has to do with coaches down through players not getting the job done.
I never want to see LSU lose but it happens in sports. What I can not stand to see is 1-2/??? 3rd down conversions, settling for FGs after having the ball 21 feet from the end zone with 3 downs to get there, penalties penalties penalties, or being down by 2 points to an over glorified JUCO team. It's the inconsistency week in and week out that's getting nasty. Every year minus last season, we're our worst enemy doing anything and everything to shoot ourselves in the foot. LSU will need to see the end zone this saturday to sniff a win at home, another streak of ours on the line. But if the QB/WRs can't get on the same page... we're in for another long day and another loss.
If things don't improve in some fashion i'm going to end up on a high dose xanax drip... good thing I have all of last seasons games minus 1 on the Tivo.
I am amazed at how relatively calm I have been so far, considering some of our games. It helps when you accept the reality of our situation...this just is not our year. Maybe we can turn it around, it can happen and has, but considering all our personnel losses and what we have coming down the pipe...I just do not see it. You have to field a way better teams than ours right now to make it thru an SEC schedule.
I'm coming to this realization. Maybe our team will come out tomorrow night and surprise me, but this is a pivotal game for the Tigers.
This is a pivotal game, just like last weeks was. FL was our first ranked, SEC opponent on the road and now SC at home. A win here could do wonders for this team. A loss could be a very hard blow to recover from.
Regardless of what happens on Saturday, this is not a national championship team. And that's ok. No one wins them every year. It really says alot about the state of the program AND the job Miles has done when the season is considered a failure if we don't win the NC. But, those are unrealistic expectations. It can still be a successful year, even if we don't make it to the big game; especially the way we've looked in the last 3 week. With this team, 10-2/9-3 is much more realistic if we win. It we lose, then we're probably looking at 8-4/7-5.
