    This is a great point.

In some ways, we can blame Ole Miss for the beating we took from Florida.

I didn't give Florida nearly as much credit going into that game as I should have. I remember watching the Florida/Ole Miss game and actually wishing Florida would win thinking that it could come back to bite us. I had hoped Arkansas would buffer us from that the next week. Obviously not quite.

The game is 90 % mental.

    lsu 13-6

unless miles proves to be a good coach and gets the OL to play. then, its more like 31-6. but that USC D is better than florida's.

    LSU 31-21

Scott runs for 150 and Lee throws it to our receivers for touchdowns this game:grin:

I was shocked by last week's score against the Gators. I think y'all come in fired up. Miles will have the Tigers psyched. Hopefully, the Gamecocks will be ready.

We do have a very good defense and our offense seems to be coming around judging from the last couple of games. Garcia will start and, if he's off, hopefully Smelley will be on. We'll see. Our running game has been putrid -- who knows why -- it may be the line -- it may be the lack of ability to burst on out there. I don't see that changing unless something just happens to click all of a sudden.

My prediction: USC 21, LSU 17

The beating of the chest for USC's defense is a bit overdone.

    Look at the competition:

    North Carolina State
    @ Vanderbilt
    Georgia
    Wofford
    UAB
    @ Mississippi
    @ Kentucky

Not exactly a list of teams jumping off the page at you offensively. Georgia's offense has been disappointing and that game was at home.

We'll see how good their D is today.

Hold us under 20 and I give this team credit.

I think the critical area is that the LSU defense steps up and NOT get so porous.

I think the South Carolina offense will attack your secondary early. However, they lead the SEC in turvovers (or according to Gameday they do). LSU gets two picks, gets the running game going and Lee nor Hatch is asked to do a lot.

    LSU 28
    SC 17

LSU comes out & controls the line of scrimmage, we control the clock & run, run, run which losens up our passing game. USC gets a few big plays, including an interception, but they won't be consistent enough.

    LSU wins by 10: 27-17

I've got $100 that says we win by at least 2, so let's hope we play with an edge & our defense shows what they are capable of.
