    Vilma also re-structured his contract which rolled much of his salary into a prorated signi9ng bonus spread over several years. The signing bonuses are not susceptible to penalties, so that makes the amount of his salary that is exposed to suspensions much lower than it was before he restructured. His exposed salary went from over 2 million to under 1 million.

    Very interesting take on the nflpa'sfiled grievance- its a cap issue and on flies violation so Goodell has not authority on punishment. Also, the agreement, between Nfl and players, states no punishment before agreement.

    I'll look for a link since I heard this second hand.
