so you're saying that because they are a big, powerful business that has a strangle-hold on the rest of the sports world, that it is okay for them to play God and assume innocence or guilt? I again repeat that I think Vick IS guilty. i just think they should take the "wait and see" approach ala the NBA with Kobe.
I'm not sure it has anything with them being a big powerful business. If I were indicted for dog fighting I would probably get put on some sort of leave, or even fired permanently. And I'm assuming others would have the same fate with their employers.
Happens everyday in the real world. No need to wait for trial. Employers are free to fire anyone, anytime. Except for discrimination, of course. About time these overpaid thugs be treated like the rest of us.
I think part of the problem is that people are numb to humans killing other humans. When I watch WWL news tonight I guarantee someone got shot. The only animal cruelty I'm going to hear about is in the sports commentary.
thats my belief as well its just strange when put in perspective. people are hellbent on wanting vick to hang while oblivious to murderers. one doesnt absolve the other though its a bit odd nonetheless. nlmd and I have been on the LL "negligent" homicide thing for some time. he was a repeat offender which is the part that pisses me off after he shouldnt have been allowed in the league to begin with.
And it still stands as the most bizarre criminal-related situation in pro sports. As much as I love some thug athletes, it's inconceivable that people don't care that Little killed somebody. Everybody brings up OJ, Carruth, and Ray Lewis, but this dude gets a free pass. I guess it's because he did it with drunk driving and most Americans secretly like drunk driving.
