    Are you?

If the main points to the law you quote are for lost income, why is one way of losing income OK and not the other?

I mean, we need to protect the artist right? Get them as much income as possible.....

    is marijuana "wrong"?

because when i take your electronic file, you still have it. i have copied it. i havent taken it away from you. why is it that i have to repeat this concept so many times?

well, to be fair, you are the one who can complain with futility as i steal everything you pay for, with 100% impunity. you can be annoyed all you want, i will never pay for anything i dont want to pay for again. so which one of us is wasting the other's time with the argument? its over, i have won. every single possible bit of information i want is mine for free, whether you like it or not, and you can never stop it.

again, like pride is saying, why do you think stealing is illegal? if the argument is that is takes away income for artists, then shouldnt also anything that is more efficient and takes money from people be illegal? like robots that build cars. should they be illegal? they take away jobs from autoworkers. that is indisputable. they take the jobs directly from autoworkers, and are not these autoworkers entitled to jobs selling their talents?

again, to justify your position, you have to explain why stealing is wrong. and thatis quite an easy thing to do with regard to stealing tangible items. but can you do that with regard to electronic strings of ones and zeros? can those really be "owned"?

if i have a list of ones and zeros, no matter what it is, should society restrict me from allowing someone else to copy my ones and zeroes? why do you hate freedom?

again, it doesnt really matter, because the die is cast, its over for your side. we win, we can and will copy and trade whatever we want, whenever we want. you want to sing a song? good for you, if i like it i will "steal" it. you want to write a book, good for you, if i want to, i will steal it. and i will never be punished. ever.

I think there should be a poll question with this thread.

that isnt an argument, is it.

do you think that the system will fail, now that the horse is out of the barn with file sharing? any tv show, any piece of music, and any movie that has been released on dvd is already freely available. has this destroyed the music industry? have kids put down their guitars and video cameras because there is no profit in it?

do you understand that every potato farm on earth would shut down tomorrow if i learned how to freely replicate them on the internet? do you understand why that is, and why it isnt the case with information?

again, you should be aware that insulting me is wasting your time, i dont care.

Once again, you are arguing that because stealing has been made easier by technology, that it has somehow become "right." Do you also steal people's identity and clean out their bank accounts electronically? Technology has created a crime that was virtually non-existent a few decades ago. Does that make it right?

Only in martinworld rules. In the real world, when you DUPLICATE a copyrighted file, you have stolen.

    The file obviously.

You cannot seem to understand simple answers.

You are completely confused. Show me a definition in any dictionary that agrees with you.
