Harper is aggressive and we end up getting flagged occasionally for the aggressive play and not the foul. And I saw the Harper hit on Smith this way: Smith was slowing down around the five and getting ready to showboat. I thought Harper saw a chance to hit him before the endzone but didn't make it. Course he didn't let up either and commented the next day that he wasn't going to let Smith rub it in this time. And if you think the Saint's play is dirty, you don't watch a whole lot of pro games.
The only thing that you can say about Harper's hit on Smith is the MoFu didn't catch another pass for the rest of the game. If that's the case, I'd take the late hit every time!!!!
Yeah him and Ingram can both suck it. Still think that was a complete waste of a draft pick. You don't under any circumstances take a running back in the first round, and you damn sure don't trade up for one. CSP of all people should know that considering his 2 work horses are undrafted, and Darren Sproles was 4th round pick.
Ingram has been somewhat disappointing in that he still hasn't had a breakout game. IMO, I don't think his style fits the Saints offense. Ingram is an every down back that needs 20-25 carries to 'get going' and wear a defense out. We all know that the Saints use multiple personnel packages and have 3 other RBs that need to get their touches, so he's never going to get that many carries per game. He just needs to adjust his game a little, if that's possible. That said, regardless of whether or not you feel it was a wasted pick, I trust Payton and Loomis to know what they're doing over GM LaSalle.
