Running the football was the right thing to do, no doubt. I just don't know which one of our bozo's had the idea to do it that way.
Forget overtime...just a poorly called offensive game. Vanilla all the way. One or two back I-formation left, I-formation right. Second down play action - pass, third down play action - pass. That's about it.
thank you....unfortunately SabanFan doesn't get it and won't ever get it. He loves wins like this anyway. He probably still thinks there is absolutely nothing wrong with this coaching staff. Rock on, Sabanfan.
looked like Jimbo and Bo spent all week making calls to other schools to get in on some openings. that or Beckwith is God. also isnt it a penalty to hit the snapper on kicks like was called in the bama/auburn game? just wondering.
Let me ask you a question, if they scored on that run, would you still be complaining? Hester was running the ball and gaining yardage in OT, it was the right call. And by passing the ball you show that you don't trust your kicker who is very reliable, having made 77 XP's in a row up until that last one.
Conversely, by running the ball you pretty much tell your all world QB (as most posters on here proclaim him to be) we're not letting you phuck up and throw an INT. So your thought process is no better. The play dictated that Ole Miss had no chance to stop us passing the ball (see 161 total yards offense in the 4th quarter, of which about 140 of it was passing). End the game with a passing TD in the endzone and go home. All's well that ends well. Sorta.
Must be they are watching to much ESPN about the undefeated seasons. Or they could have just blocked out the Tennesse loss at home last season due to mental trauma. B
