Karr tight end Standish Dobard commits to Miami Karr tight end Standish Dobard, one of the nation's top senior high school football prospects, verbally committed to sign with Miami on Wednesday, a Rivals.com recruiting website reported. Dobard, 6-foot-5, 235 pounds, with 4.7 speed in the 40, delivered his commitment in person to Coach Al Golden during an unofficial visit to the Coral Gables, Fla., school on Wednesday, CaneSport.com reported. Dobard was visiting south Florida while Karr is on spring break. Karr Coach Jabbar Juluke said via text that he could not confirm the commitment and was unavailable for further comment. Dobard also could not be reached for comment, but was quoted by CaneSport.com on Wednesday afternoon as saying, "I just committed to Miami. I'm down here on a visit. I just decided to take a little unofficial visit down here. I just fell in love with everything I've seen. I absolutely love the school and the coaches here.'' "It was just something that I had felt in my heart for a while,'' Dobard added in reference to choosing Miami. "My heart was just telling me I needed to commit. I felt like this is where I'm going to be the best and I'm going to reach my full potential. They have a great history of really good tight ends here." Dobard is ranked No. 8 nationally among senior tight ends and No. 208 overall by Rivals. He has scholarship offers from LSU, Florida, Georgia, Auburn, Mississippi State, Oklahoma, Texas A&M, Texas Tech and Colorado, according to Rivals. A key member of Karr's Class 4A state runner-up team last season, Dobard also made an unofficial visit to Auburn last weekend and took in a Tigers spring scrimmage. http://blog.nola.com/sports_feeds_blog/2012/04/karr_tight_end_standish_dobard_commits_to_miami.html
