The quality of 7 or 8 wins depends on the season. Last year, it would've been completely unacceptable. Schedule was too weak.

This year, 8 wins - considering the schedule - might not be that bad a season, depending on how it all falls out.

Just sayin'...

I personally will enjoy this season no matter what because 2011 is the year, my friends.

Well, losing a game you shouldn’t have is the reason Miles gets flack, but not for those coaches?

I don’t know if people know this or not, but at his time at LSU, Saban lost to Ark 3 times in his 5 years......

Also, he lost to Auburn and UF 3 times too.....

So, I don’t know who the new flavor of the year is, but it seems that people just make up excuses when in reality, they just hate Miles...

It would be much better if people just said hey, I don’t like Miles instead of making up piss poor excuses of why other coaches are so much better and why teams are so much better than LSU when in reality, THEIR NOT!!!!!

THE ONLY coach in the SEC to truly have a clean record, wait……..

 

Jeez we go 8-5, 9-4 and the world is caving in and Miles is the guy swinging the pick-axe.

Let's wait and see how well bama (who's replacing a slew of defensive starters, and had a lot of luck (Tenn kicker injured and can't get any lift on his kicks, which allowed a fatazz who can't get his toes off the ground when he jumps to block a kick, Colt McCoy going down on the first series in a NC game) and help (officials) to win it all.

and Auburn? Picked to finish ahead of a team that's beaten them 3 times in a row, the one team we de-cleated?

The Miles bashers have been waiting for this, so they can say they were right.

And I've asked it over and over, and I'm still waiting for the Miles bashers to answer, WHO? WHO do you want that we actually have a chance to hire, who's a guarenteed upgrade?

Mind you, I'm not saying that it's not possible for Miles to fail and have to go. But let's see how the season goes.

I heard Doug Moreau on the raido, someone asked if he felt Miles was still the right coach and he said, we'll see. We know he can win, he's done it, can he fix what needs to be fixed and get back to playing for championships? We'll see.

 

I usually try to stay away from the Saban comparisons, but dayum...some are just too true. It's not that people don't "know" it...it's that they refuse to acknowledge some of the facts...and hence, probably don't even believe it. But they have their own facts, and a lot of Miles supporters refuse to acknowledge those. It's such a dead horse...and really pointless.

 

I for one don't have a problem having an open mind when people say things negative about Miles. Where I draw the line is with the coaching comparisons. Mostly with that other guy. But the only one I won't listen to is: "I hate Miles because he speaks poorly". That's not a reason. That's an excuse.

I don't hate Miles and hope very much that I'm wrong, so stop saying I just hate Miles. Everybody who has questions about Miles (lots of us) don't hate him or want him to fail. We just see things that we aren't happy about. That will sort itself out over the next few years. If LSU continues averaging 9 or 10 wins, I'll be very happy. If they start going toward 7 or 8 wins, which is what I'm predicting, that's not good enough and it shouldn't be good enough for you either.

Comparing Saban and Miles record is a straw man argument and you know it. Saban built a program and Miles inherited a juggernaut. It's not remotely comparable so stop pretending that it is. Who was a better coach at Miami, Butch Davis or Larry Coker?? The winning percentage probably says Coker, but we know that's not true.

 

Maybe if you tell us how bad you think our coach is about 100 more times before the season starts we will like you better.
