The loss to Ken and Ark could just have easily been won as Bama beat Tenn (2009) or LSU in 2008.

I just don't get your logic. How is Saban and Myer so much beter than Miles?

A Miles coached team holds UF last year to 13 points?
A Miles coached team takes the 12-1 2008 Bama to OT? Thanks J Lee!
A miles coached team LEADS Bama until key players get hurt in 2009?

Or a Saban coached team that gets blown out in a bowl game to UTAH?
    Myer losing to MICH?
A Saban coached team reling on Tenn to miss a field goal last year to win?

The faults of Myer and Saban can go on and on and on and on.........and on....and on....

Please provide facts about how Miles is SO bad and that he has done things that no other coach as ever done..............I don't think you can.

The thing about Miles, which I like, is he has enough balls to call risky plays the rely SOLEY on the players. He lets them win the game. Granted, the right call helps, then again, every play can be a touchdown if played right.

In context, those games above are even worse... God knows, if CLM had had those losses or near losses, what would have been said.

All great points. I would add that coaches and teams don't just stumble into wins, IMO. You make your own luck. As you have stated, and I would agree Miles isn't Saban or Meyer, but the drop of is minimal at most. If Miles is allowed to stick around and continues to keep us at a winning level, the W/L ration between LSU/Bama/UF will almost be a draw. Each program will go thru it's up and down periods, and most games will come down to a play here and there, or a call that goes their way here and there. Bama/UF may get a slight edge over the long haul, but not by much.

The difference in most of these matchups won't be a disparity in talent or a huge gap in Head Coaching ability, the difference will come from who has the most talented asst coaches. Which at this point Crowton is our weakest link and the biggest difference between LSU and the others. Hopefully the additional pieces that Miles has added will be enough to close and conquer that gap. I'd say when we beat either Bama or UF or both this year it will be Miles' coaching that makes up for that dificiency.

I don't know if I'm a Miles hater. I don't want him to fail so I will be proven right. I want to be wrong. I like Miles for many reasons, but as long as he's LSU's coach, I feel we will be behind Bama and Florida most years(not unexpected necessarily) and behind Arky, Auburn, and Ole Miss some years (not acceptable with our recruiting).

Look, my point is that we can be second to Alabama in the West. We can't lose to Ole Miss, Arkansas and Auburn. Not as long as we are having top 5 recruiting classes.

Sorry man. It's the eyeball test. Florida and Bama look like much better coached teams to me. So does Arky, Ole Miss, and Auburn. I know Saban and Meyer have lost games they shouldn't have. It's not about just that.

I could be wrong and I hope I am. IMO, this year will prove it one way or another.

He's beaten Auburn for 3 straight years, posted more wins, and out recruited them too. You worry a lot.

I can only shake my head at those who are disgruntled with 10-win averages and top-5 recruiting. Life must be miserable.

Didn't Meyer have some sort of breakdown last year? Like of the nervous kind? Glad we don't have that going in Tigerland. And yeah, it sucks to lose to Ole Miss, but before that it was, what, 10 years before they won a game against LSU. As stated above, we've beaten Auburn 3 years running.

The only thing that worries me about Miles' teams as of late, it seems they come out charging in the first half, and then play super sloppy and conservative in the second. Almost like a breakdown in the 4th. And I could be wrong, but that's just how I see it.

Let's just wait and see what happens this year. If he gives us another 10 win season, I'll be more than happy to admit I was wrong.

If he wins 7 or 8 again this year, however, I wonder how long you'll continue to apologize for Miles.

Kind of a stupid statement. Seeing as how most of support our coach, instead of "apologizing" as you see it.

I for one don't remember ever saying that I was sorry about anything.

I think he means making excuses for Miles. Not trying to join the argument, just trying to clarify.
