No, he should have saved his TO to kick a FG in case the play imploded. He did that, but didn't need it because the play worked.

There is evidence to support you. Certainly some in the last two years. I tend to think Miles turns a great deal over to his coaches and he will only perform as well as those guys do. Crap in, crap out. We will see over the next 2 yrs if Miles is more the guy from his first 3 yrs, or the last 2.

Then why does Meyer get a pass for losing to Ole Ms the yr they won a NC? They should have lost to them? Saban should have lost to ULM? How is that even remotely possible? And please don't dismiss it. These guys were overwhelming favorites with no excuse to lose. Is it all on Saban and Meyer? Or how about Carroll losing to Stanford the same year? Not the coach's fault? The point I am making is it is not unfair to hold Miles to a high standard and to criticize him when he fails, but I think the claims weaken when they are not applied across the college landscape.

Focus on the beer, gumbo, and the people you are partying with dude. You will enjoy the victories so much more. You might even make it through the inevitable losses a bit better.

If I was trying to change your mind, which I'm not, I would stop debating you after this post. In your mind Miles is a bad coach and nothing anyone says will chage that.

Urban Meyer lost 4 games in a season where his QB broke all sorts of records, and won the heisman. Nobody questioned him.

Les Miles loses 5 games with the worst QB play of my lifetime, and he's on the hot seat.

Miles took #1 ranked Alabama coached by Mr. Saban to OT with one of the worst single game QB performances in a decade, and a really shoddy defense.

the following year, on the road with his backup QB and back up RB gives Alabama one hell of a scare.


Saban and Meyer are better, I won't deny that. But the gap isn't as big as people seem to think.

600yds of offense against a Beamer defense? VaTech has played some talented offenses in the last few years.
Hell, the year USC was supposedly the best of all time ('04), they got less than 400yds, and only half as many points

The final drive against Florida was an absolute clinic.

there was not a tremendous outcry. Yes people did b!tch, but UF boards weren't flooded with idiots demanding he be replaced like there was here in '08.

not a lot of scathing articles online, etc. etc. etc.
