Hey everybody. I haven't had the time to post for a while but with whats been going on and what I've been seeing and hearing on the news I wanted to catch up and read some TF posts. After reading alot of the posts something struck me so I thought I'd share it. I wanted to take the time to point out what makes LSU football such a special thing and LSU such a special place. LSU football is about Louisiana. LSU football is about tailgating and food and "Laisez Les Bons Temps Rouler". LSU football is about GEAUX and Mike the Tiger. LSU football is about Victory Hill and the Golden Band from Tigerland and Pregame. It's about the Chinese Bandits and Haloween runs and Earthquakes. It's about Saturday nights in Baton Rouge with 92,000 plus completely insane football fans. It's about players like Travis Daniels who said "I play for the name on my helmet not the name on my jersey." It's about bleeding Purple and Gold. I love Coach Miles and I hope he remains our coach but I don't really think we want to end up like Alabama and the whole program is about the coach. I think Coach Miles is good for LSU and LSU is good for Coach Miles. We should try every way possible to convince him to stay. Just like with any friend or family member that has to part, IF it happens you wish them well and you move on and keep on tailgating, and you keep on screaming at the top of your lungs and you keep on bleeding Purple and Gold. As events unfold in the next few weeks, we need to keep in mind that what makes LSU so great is LSU itself. If CLM moves on then we will miss him, but no matter what a coach accomplishes at LSU, no matter if a coach wins 10 NCs in a row he will never be greater than LSU itself. LSU football is about the name on the Stadium not the one on the coaches door. I'm positive that coach Miles would agree with that 100% P.S. #1 By the way I absolutely love the White Hat Day idea.:milesmic: P.S. #2 I am aware of the Flame potential of this post. Before flaming please re read the part about how much I want CLM to stay. This post is more about how we should react IF it happens.
Leaving LSU and its lifestyle is only a loss to the one that leaves. Just remember who ever you are, it doesn't matter. When you leave you leave a friend intact. Don’t know what ya missing till you got it no more! Stay a friend and you get to come back. :laflagwav
I'll need a hot toddy instead of a Mai Tai. I'm actually coming to your state for Christmas. What part of Colorado are you in?
