I want to start by saying, No I am not happy with how we played last night, we had the game in our hands and gave it away, WE NEED IMPROVEMENTS or we will easily get our butts handed to us in the SEC.... We have to step up, grow up, review this film, take our win and build on it But............... I will remain positive this game wasnt a homerun but it was a solid double......and

To those of you who I really enjoy chatting with and reading your posts:

thedude, bhelm, bandit, fishhead, and many more....

all the real fans, and intelligent fans who saw what I saw last night, who saw the good in JJ, who saw the good in our o-line, who saw the good in our pass rush, who saw the good in our pass coverage, who saw the good in our run game and special teams, I know you guys support this team.

Im sorry guys, I cant stand the sh!thead so called fans on here that are just negative, negative, negavtive!!!!

But for those that after an opening day win, who are already calling for JJ & Miles head because we didnt score every possesion, KILL YOURSELF or stop watching college football.

You are ignorant, stupid, two faced, and simply a disgrace to LSU and LSU fans

    Over all:

    We played decent football.
Jefferson, Peterson, Shepard, Ridley, Randle, Nevis, all played good football last night. We really didnt have the football long enough to get more plays in, due to losing T.O.P and turnovers (Again, we can fix those)

Take away an unusual missed fg, a holding call that brought back a td, a holding call that killed a scoring drive, and 2 fumbles that killed scoring drives, LSU would have put up over 50 points last night!

It was the first game, we made some mistakes, we need to make some adjustments, we had an unusual miscue on defense that gave up a long td, Kelvin Shep, B-Taylor, and PP all came out due to being shaken up, our outside LB's got exposed a bit on quick slants, but these are all issues we can fix!!

We wanted to acomplish 4 things going into this season if memory serves me correct:

    1) Protect JJ
    2) Develope a running game
    3) Get Russell Shepard Involved
    4) improve pash rush and have strong defensive front

    1) JJ completed 71% of his passes for 150 yds and 2 td's on 1 sack, checked down and when nobody was open, took it himself and always gained posative yards...didnt try and force anything that wasnt there (Im satisfied - Good Job JJ, Thanks)

    2) 162 yds on the ground (ridley 81 yards and had huge td run called back(I'll take it, just fix the butter fingers, other than that, ridley found the holes, hit them hard, made some guys miss, looked good. Good Job Ridley, Good Job O-Line, Thankis!)

    3) RS - 5 carries, 67 yds 1 td & 2 receptions 12 yds 1 td ( 2 big TD's for us last night...Thanks Shep, Good Job!!)

    4) D-Line, 4 sacks, safety, 5 forced fumbles, only gave 24 rushing yds on 33 attemts for 0.7 yds per carrier and UNC 4-17 on 3rd down - Hell of a game D-Line. Thanks!!!

On other notes, Peterson, you are a freak of a man, 257 return yds, 87 yd td return, averaged 33 yds on KR & 39 yds on PR, giving us great field position, which is probably why we only ran 57 plays and had the ball 25 minutes

Thank You PP - Hell of a Game

THANK YOU TIGERS, GOOD GAME, GOOD WIN, GO FIX THE PROBLEMS, AND SHUT THESE IDIOTS UP!!!!

    :geaux::geaux::geaux::geaux::geaux:

    BTW

TJ Yates played lights out! -

This..I thought the O looked good in the first half..jefferson looked confident at wasn't afraid to throw throw the ball..offensive line gave him plenty of time...run defense was phenominal last night how many tackles for loss did we have..it had to be 10+....I'm sick of hearing about playing a bunch of back ups and we should have blown them out....they fielded a good team with the 2 best linebackers in the country...the difference between thier 1st and 2nd secondary players was marginal at best...

for those of you who think that our O looked just like last year without any improvement, go back and watch some games....All in all i feel like we are better in alot of areas (oline, big play capability, jj's confidence, run defense, special teams) play calling wasn't that bad, just didn't execute aswell in 2nd half....think we will still be a sec contender if we can cut out the turnovers, and put 2 halfs of good football together...Lets have a good week of pracice improve on our mistakes.and all will be fine come next sunday morning.

couldnt have said it better myself. A w is a w, we're 1-0 and we will keep improving. Stop being so damn picky and take the win.

    Thanks You!!!

That UNC team was adamn good football team, Backups or not! There o-line gave Yates a lot of time, Yates looked really good, and if it wasnt for the 2 holding calls and 2 fumbles in the 2nd half, we WOULD HAVE added 2 more tds to score board, making it ATLEAST 44 points.

Just another thought - Around the Top 25:

#3 UF vs Miami(OH) - UF only had 212 yd, with 4 turnovers - At Home
#4 Texas vs Rice - UT only had 369 total yds - At Home
#7 OU vs Utah St. - Gave up 421 yds and only won by 7 - At Home

If you combine out return yds, Thanks to PP LSU had 633 total yards last night.

We started at mid field damn near every drive.

But True we have to fix those fumbles!!!!!!!

It would have been a blow out!

    Very nice post.

One thing that I will add is that a majority of teams I watched yesterday had problems with fumbles. It's not something that I'm going to gather stats on, but I'll just say that throughout the day I saw a lot.
